Rate Increase

We are posting to inform you about an upcoming rate increase that will be applied to your sanitary bill starting with the September billing cycle. As part of our commitment to providing reliable and high-quality wastewater services, we have continued to invest in infrastructure improvements and maintenance to ensure that you receive exceptional service and environmental protection.

Due to the rising costs of operations, maintenance, and the impact of inflation on our operational expenses, we find it necessary to make a slight adjustment to our rates. Effective September 12th, there will be a 5% increase in the wastewater rates. The new rate will be $4.83 per thousand gallons of water, and the minimum bill will be adjusted to $16.46.

We understand that any rate increase can be concerning, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. The adjustment is essential to cover the increasing costs associated with wastewater treatment, distribution, and other essential services, allowing us to maintain the high-quality water services that our environment deserves.

It is important to note that the district has not implemented a rate increase since 2012. We have always been committed to stabilizing our rates while ensuring we meet all the requirements and standards to serve you efficiently.

We want to thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to maintain and enhance the sewer infrastructure in the area. Our primary goal is to provide reliable and safe wastewater services you can depend on while preserving the environment we cherish.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this rate increase or your sanitary bill, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 217/267-3131 or via email at wbsanitary@wbsanitarydistrict.com. We will be more than happy to assist you.

Thank you for being a valued customer of Westville Belgium Sanitary District. We look forward to continuing to serve you and the community for many years to come.
